Warm mid-week, plenty of dry weather

WeathEire_Forecast_28_april_2025-1200x675 Warm mid-week, plenty of dry weather

Temperatures will peak during the middle of this week as high pressure brings largely dry and fine conditions to all of Ireland.

Each day will bring spells of sunshine to all locations, with sunshine hour totals everywhere well above average for the time of year.

Rainfall totals will be well below average, with some locations in the north and east remaining completely dry.

Scattered showers, some of which may be thundery, will develop in the west during Wednesday evening and spread inland during the early night.   Scattered outbreaks of light rain or drizzle may also affect southern counties of Munster and Leinster for a time on Thursday night into Friday morning.

Temperatures on Monday will range from 13°C to 18°C, highest in inland parts of the northern half of Ireland and coolest in southern coastal locations.

Tuesday will be warmer with highs of 15°C to 20°C.

Wednesday will likely be the warmest day of the week as temperatures will climb to between 17°C and 22°C. It will remain cooler on north facing coasts of Ulster.

With a more northerly component to the breeze from Thursday, the northwest, north and northeast will remain a good deal cooler than the southern half of the country. Temperatures will range from 10 to 14°C in northern counties to 17 to 21°C in south Munster and south Leinster.

Temperatures on Friday will range from 10 to 16°C, coolest once again in the north, but they will climb back into the mid-teens for all locations over the weekend.

There is a risk of a frontal system bringing rain to southern counties on Sunday morning, but the outlook into the early days of next week is for a continuation of largely dry conditions.

It may turn much cooler as next week progresses, however, due to a northeasterly airmass developing as high pressure drifts west.   Such a scenario would also increase the risk of colder nights with a risk of frost.
