Next week to bring warm and dry conditions

The current spell of warm and dry weather will continue for up to another 10 days at least, despite a scattering of showers during Sunday and Monday.
A weak warm front will bring some light rain or drizzle in the northwest on Sunday morning before fizzling out as it moves inland. At the same time, showers will bubble up in the southeast and move north into the midlands. The showers will turn heavy and may merge to longer spells of rain for a time in east Leinster and east Ulster.
After a damp start on Monday in the northeast on Monday, the day will see scattered showers drift east across Ireland during the morning, but they will largely die out as they move into the Midlands. The northwest, west and south will remain dry with a mix of cloud and sunny spells.
Temperatures will range from 15 to 17°C on Sunday and Monday but will rise into the high teens and low 20s for the remainder of the week.
Winds will initially be gentle to moderate northwesterly on Sunday, swinging moderate northeasterly on Monday, and easing to light east to southeasterly for the remainder of next week.
The coming week will bring warm and settled conditions as high pressure builds over Ireland.
The fine conditions will continue through next weekend and into the beginning of the following week when high pressure will wane somewhat, allowing Atlantic systems to encroach from the west. The final outcome is far from determined so further changes are likely as we approach the forecast period.
