Unsettled weather regime from Friday, high pressure nearby for June

WeathEire Forecast 3

The near-four-week-long fine spell of weather will come to an end during Friday evening as an Atlantic warm front brings outbreaks of light rain across Ireland.

The period up to the start of June will bring showers or longer spells of rain interspersed with drier intervals, particularly in the southeast.

Rainfall totals from Friday evening through next week will be highest in the west and north (30–40 mm) and lowest in the south and southeast (10–20 mm).

Temperatures will generally range in the mid to high teens up to Saturday evening, before dipping to 13–16°C on Monday and Tuesday. Temperatures will rise slowly again as next week progresses, reaching the mid to high teens and possibly touching 20°C in Leinster.

Frost is not expected at night.

Winds will be generally moderate, occasionally fresh and westerly up to mid-week, but will ease later next week.

High pressure will attempt to build close to or over Ireland next weekend, bringing more widespread dry and settled conditions. Temperatures are likely to be above average.
