Unsettled Weather to Linger into Next Week

Unsettled and changeable conditions will continue through the June Bank Holiday Weekend and into the early days of next week, with low pressure remaining the dominant feature of Ireland’s weather.
Showers or longer spells of rain each day will be interspersed with drier spells, particularly in the southeast and east of Ireland.
The heaviest rainfall is expected in the west and north, where totals may reach 40–50mm over the coming days. Rainfall amounts will be lighter in the south and east, ranging from 10–20mm.
Temperatures will slowly climb from the mid to high teens as this week progresses, but will dip back a few degrees everywhere during the weekend.
Winds will generally be moderate to fresh, occasionally strong, westerly for the remainder of the week.
Wednesday will see scattered showers moving in from the west, with drier conditions elsewhere, especially away from the northwest. A more organised band of rain is forecast to cross the country on Wednesday night, lingering in Connacht, north Leinster, and Ulster through Thursday morning.
Showery conditions will continue for the remainder of the week, though the south, southeast, and east are expected to stay relatively drier.
Rising Air Pressure
The Atlantic weather pattern will remain active into the early part of next week. However, a build-up of high pressure moving northeastward from the Azores midweek may bring more settled weather to eastern and southern areas. Temperatures in these regions could climb into the low 20s, while northern and western counties are likely to remain unsettled.
