
Thundery Showers Next Few Days, A Marked Improvement Next Week

Showery weather will persist up to Saturday, before drier and calmer weather takes hold from Sunday.
In the meantime, warm and humid conditions will produce some heavy, thundery downpours at times.
By the end of Saturday, the Midlands, East, and North are set to see the highest rainfall totals, with accumulations ranging from 30-40mm. In contrast, the Southwest will be much drier, with around 10mm of rain expected.
Day-by-Day Forecast
Wednesday will be a humid day across Ireland, with a mix of cloud and sunny spells. Scattered showers will extend from the south during the evening, becoming heavy and thundery in places later.
Temperatures will reach a pleasant 17 to 20°C in a moderate southerly breeze.
Further heavy and thundery falls of rain will continue through Wednesday night.
Showery outbreaks of rain will persist during Thursday, bringing further heavy and thundery falls, particularly across northern and eastern areas. Temperatures will eventually climb to between 16 and 20°C in a moderate to fresh southeasterly wind.
The showery conditions will persist through Friday and Saturday, but there will be some sunny breaks at times, particularly in the west and northwest. Temperatures will once again range in the mid to high teens.
Looking Ahead
Low pressure will eventually give way through Sunday and Monday to high pressure building from the south. A marked improvement in our weather will follow thereafter with conditions resembling what is called ‘summer’ in other countries.
Sunshine levels will be well above average for the time of year through the following week with below average rainfall. Temperatures will be in the mid-teens initially before climbing as the week progresses.
