Ireland shines bright on Tuesday
Widespread sunshine persisted across all of Ireland on Tuesday.
High pressure fixed over Ireland brought clear skies and temperatures into the low 20s throughout the day.
The above scenes were taken from live webcam feeds from Bangor (Down), Ballybunion and Killarney (Kerry), Schull (Cork), Dublin Port and Howth (Dublin), Inis Mór (Galway), Ballyjamesduff (Cavan), and Keele (Mayo).
The settled conditions are being driven by persistent high pressure over or near Ireland, which has brought an exceptionally dry start to May. This high pressure system is expected to dominate until at least mid-week next week.
The warm and dry spell will continue through the middle of next week at which point a change to less settled conditions is anticipated.
Weather models are indicating that high pressure may begin to weaken towards the end of the forecast period, allowing Atlantic systems to approach. This could bring some rain in the second half of next week, with temperatures slipping back into the mid to high teens.
