
Ulster shines as cloud hangs over rest of Ireland

Much of Ulster enjoyed blue skies and sunshine on Wednesday afternoon, with overcast conditions for the rest of Ireland.
Cloud covered the southern two thirds of the island when the NASA Modis satellite passed over shortly before midday.
The scene at Fort Dunree, near Buncrana in County Donegal, was summer-like.

A spell of wet weather will affect all of Ireland during Thursday and Friday ahead of an improvement in conditions as next week progresses.
Rain will push into Atlantic coastal counties on Thursday afternoon, but it will remain dry in the east until Thursday night.
Rain will become widespread overnight.
Scattered outbreaks will continue through much of Friday, but it will gradually turn drier from the west.
