Ireland enjoyed largely clear skies and top temperatures of 16 to 17c on Bank Holiday Monday.

High pressure situated over Ireland is bringing fine and dry conditions to northwest Europe, which are expected to continue through the end of the week.

Following a cold start to the day with the temperature dipping to -0.3c in , County , conditions warmed up in the west of the country where there was afternoons of highs of 16c and 17c.

It was much cooler in the southeast due to the influence of easterly sea breeze.

Parts of coastal only reached 10c to 11c.
