Ireland Basks in Sunshine as Dry Spell Continues

Ireland enjoyed widespread sunshine on Thursday, with clear skies stretching from coast to coast as the prolonged dry spell held firm.
NASA‘s MODIS satellite captured a cloud-free view over the country just before midday, highlighting the stark contrast with much of eastern England, which remained under a blanket of cloud drifting in from the North Sea.
Afternoon temperatures climbed to 24°C across western parts of Ireland, adding to the summery feel.

The fine weather is set to continue into next week, with high pressure firmly in control across northwestern Europe.
Sunshine and warm temperatures will persist, with highs reaching up to 25°C in the west.
Eastern and southern coasts, affected by an easterly breeze, can expect slightly cooler conditions, ranging from 19 to 22°C. Nights will stay mild, with no risk of frost.
The settled spell is expected to last through Wednesday.
Beyond midweek, however, high pressure will begin to weaken, allowing Atlantic weather systems to approach from the west.
