It is a beautifully clear and crisp spring morning across Ireland with bright sunshine starting off Wednesday.

It has been a very chilly start to the day, however, away from southern counties. in County recorded minus 5c shortly before 8.00am.

Following a coklder than average week across many parts of Ireland, temperatures will range from 10 to 15c during Wednesday.

It will be mildest in the west and southwest and coldest in coastal areas of east Ulster that are exposed to the moderate east-southeast wind.

Temperatures will once again drop close to freezing away from the south and southwest overnight and into Thursday morning. Inland Ulster will be the coldest spot overnight.

Thursday will be another dry day with a mix of sunny spells and cloud ahead. Temperatures could rise to 18c in the western half of Ireland.

Showery conditions will follow for Friday.

The unsettled regime will continue through Friday and night and Saturday, with the heaviest rain falling in the south and west.
