Met Éireann Issues Marine Warnings for Friday

Met Éireann has issued a series of marine warnings ahead of Friday’s unsettled weather, with strong southwest to west winds and outbreaks of rain expected to impact the west and north of Ireland.
Breezy conditions will develop on Friday morning, with rain spreading eastwards across the west and north. Further east, the rain will become more fragmented, leaving much of Leinster, east Munster, and east Ulster mostly dry.
A Small Craft Warning is in place from Valentia to Erris Head to Fair Head, valid from midnight until noon on Friday (04/07/2025). Southwest winds will strengthen to force 6 or higher during this period, making conditions challenging for smaller vessels.
Additionally, a Yellow Gale Warning covers the stretch from Erris Head to Rossan Point to Malin Head, where southwest winds are expected to reach gale force 8 at times between 9:00 and 13:00 on Friday.
The warnings extend further, with a Small Craft Warning issued for all coasts of Ireland from midday Friday until midnight, as southwest to west winds continue at force 6 or stronger.
