1980: After a cold start to the day, most of Ireland records daytime maximums of 20°C and over.
1988: Snow is recorded in the Dublin and Wicklow Mountains, after showers drift south in a bitterly cold polar airflow.
1992: Much of the country records temperatures in the low 20s, with 23.2°C recorded at Belmullet, Mayo.
1993: 115 km/h gusts of wind are recorded at Rosslare, Wexford, and Casement, Dublin. Belmullet and Mullingar see an inch of rainfall.
1998: The temperature exceeds 24°C in Shannon and Kilkenny.
2004: Kilkenny begins the day with a temperature reading of 2.6°C, which rises to 20.8°C by late afternoon.
