WeathÉire was established in 2025 by Mark Dunphy, who also founded Irish Weather Online (IWO) in 2010 and The Clare Herald in 2007.

Met Éireann and the UK Met Office are the official meteorological service providers on the island of Ireland. WeathÉire will, therefore, amplify official weather warnings during periods of severe weather.
