Weather Outlook for Ireland

WeathEire_Forecast-4-1200x675 Weather Outlook for Ireland

Ireland is set to enjoy a stretch of warm, settled weather this week, with sunshine and rising temperatures dominating the days ahead.

High pressure will keep things mostly dry and bright through Friday, particularly in the east and south, where temperatures could climb as high as 28°C.

However, as the weekend approaches, signs of a change emerge, with rain and showers returning to the west and more unsettled conditions likely by early next week.

Monday:
A dry day with cloud gradually clearing from most areas, except the far northwest. Cloud will spread in from the northwest again later this evening, but the northeast and east will remain mostly clear.
Temperatures: 14°C to 22°C, warmest in east Munster and Leinster, coolest in exposed northwestern coasts.
Winds: Moderate northwesterly.

Tuesday:
A dull and damp start in the west and north with outbreaks of light rain and drizzle pushing further inland. Brightening gradually from the southwest during late morning and afternoon.
Temperatures: 15°C to 24°C, warmest in southern counties.
Winds: Light westerly.

Wednesday:
A largely dry day with long sunny spells, apart from a few isolated showers along the Atlantic coast.
Temperatures: 16°C to 25°C, coolest near the northwest and north coast.
Winds: Light westerly.

Thursday:
Plenty of sunshine throughout the day.
Temperatures: 19°C to 27°C.
Winds: Light westerly.

Friday:
A sunny day for most areas, though some cloud may move into the far west and northwest by evening.
Temperatures: 19°C to 28°C.
Winds: Light southerly.

Weekend Outlook:
Ireland will lie on the boundary between departing high pressure to the east and approaching Atlantic systems from the west. The fine spell is likely to end in western areas, while eastern counties may stay warm and dry for longer.

Saturday:
Dry and sunny in the east; patchy rain may affect the west at times.
Temperatures: 16°C to 26°C, coolest along the western seaboard.
Winds: Light southerly, becoming southeasterly.

Sunday:
A mix of heavy showers and sunny spells.
Temperatures: 16°C to 22°C.
Winds: Moderate to fresh southeast to southerly, strongest in the west and north.

Next Week:
A more unsettled pattern is expected with a mobile Atlantic regime bringing a mix of showers and dry spells. Southern and eastern areas will likely remain driest.
Temperatures: Falling back to near seasonal averages, ranging from 15°C to 20°C.
Winds: Southwesterly, moderate to fresh at times.
