Met Éireann has issued several Yellow marine warnings for today and Tuesday, with strong northerly and northwesterly winds expected around the coast.

On land, winds will be gentle to moderate for most areas, though it will feel cooler along the north Ulster and Irish Sea coasts where northerlies will freshen at times.

After some early rain in the southwest, the day is expected to brighten considerably. Long spells of sunshine will develop nationwide as conditions clear.

A nationwide Small Craft Warning is in place from midnight on Monday, with northerly winds forecast to reach force 6 or higher on all coasts until midnight on Tuesday.

A separate Gale Warning remains active from 8pm on Sunday to 9am on Monday for waters from Howth Head to Roches Point to Rossan Point and in the Irish Sea south of Anglesey. West to northwest winds are expected to reach gale force 8 or strong gale force 9 at times.

Another Small Craft Warning runs from midnight to 8am on Tuesday for waters from Carlingford Lough to Wicklow Head to Hook Head, where north to northwest winds will reach force 6.
