Ireland will enjoy plenty of dry and warm weather through the rest of this week, with temperatures remaining above average for mid-August. Conditions will become more unsettled at times early next week, with the east holding on to the best of the dry weather.
Today – Wednesday
Light rain and drizzle in parts of Leinster will clear, leaving a dry afternoon and evening nationwide. Sunny spells will develop later.

Thursday
Largely dry with just a few light, scattered showers. A sunny start, though high cloud will drift in from the northwest later.

Friday
Morning mist and fog will lift to give a mainly dry and sunny day. A few showers will move into Ulster and western counties later.

Dry for most of the day with sunny breaks. Showers will develop in the west and northwest during the afternoon, some turning thundery. Staying dry further south and east.

Bright to start. Cloud increasing from the west with patchy mist or drizzle along the Atlantic coast by evening, clearing early in the night. Dry with sunshine elsewhere.

Warm and humid. Many areas will be dry with sunshine, but cloud will build from the west. Rain will reach the southwest, west and northwest by late evening.

Rest of Next Week
Turning cooler and more unsettled as Atlantic systems bring scattered rain and showers, especially in the west and south. Rainfall will return closer to normal here after a very dry spell, while it stays drier than average elsewhere. The remnants of Hurricane Erin are expected to remain largely offshore to the west, with the most unsettled weather confined to southern and western parts. Winds will be moderate to fresh at times.
