
Ireland basks in wall to wall sunshine
Temperatures rose into the high teens as winds eased across Ireland on Monday afternoon.
The day was marked by brilliant sunshine from coast to coast.
The above video features scenes from Fenit and Aghadoe in County Kerry, Cobh in Cork, Keel in Mayo, Dublin Port and Howth, and Hook Head in Wexford.
Temperatures rose to 19 °C at Kerry Airport and Shannon Airport by 3:00 p.m..
Similar conditions are expected during Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Sunshine will become a little hazier by Friday, but dry weather will prevail until Sunday when more changeable conditions develop.
On Sunday, showers or extended periods of rain will move northward from the south as high pressure shifts away from Ireland.
Temperatures will also drop a few degrees to 13-15 °C.
The subsequent week will offer a blend of dry intervals and wetter spells, as Atlantic frontal systems bring further rain or showers.
Precipitation amounts will range from light to moderate.
