Mostly dry in the east and north. Scattered showers will develop in Munster and south Connacht, some heavy and thundery with localised downpours by late afternoon and evening. Sunshine at times. A spell of more persistent rain may reach the southwest Monday night.

Winds: Gentle east to southeasterly

Tuesday
Turning a little cooler. Heavy showers developing in Munster and southwest Leinster; drier and cloudier elsewhere with brighter spells later.
Highs: 17–22°C, coolest in Munster
Winds: Gentle easterly

Wednesday
A mix of cloud and occasional sunny breaks, with some isolated showers in Connacht and Ulster.
Highs: 17–23°C, coolest along the Irish Sea coast
Winds: Light northeasterly

Thursday
Plenty of dry weather with some isolated showers.
Highs: 17–24°C, coolest in the northeast
Winds: Light easterly

Friday
Largely dry with just isolated showers.
Highs: 17–22°C, coolest in the northern half of the country
Winds: Light variable

Weekend
Largely dry on Saturday. On Sunday, outbreaks of rain or heavy showers will develop in the west, while staying drier further east. Temperatures in the high teens to low 20s.
Winds: Gentle southerly Saturday, veering light westerly Sunday

Outlook
The remnants of Hurricane Erin, currently a Category 5 storm in the Caribbean, are expected to track towards northwest Europe and may introduce fresher, more unsettled conditions to Ireland later next week. Considerable uncertainty remains regarding the exact track of the system and its interaction with the jet stream.
