1959 – Phoenix Park, Dublin records 24.9 °C, a station record high for the date.

1979 – RTÉ News reports swans on the River Lee in Cork contaminated by oil pollution. Thirteen swans are put down near the Mercy Hospital.

1986 – Ground frost reported across the Midlands as overnight temperatures fall to low single figures.

2011 – Wet and windy weather sweeps Ireland. Shannon Airport records a gust of 103 km/h, while Dublin Airport reaches 100 km/h.

2017Storm Aileen, the first named storm of the 2017–18 season, is named by the UK Met Office. Heavy rain and strong winds affect south Munster and Leinster overnight into the 13th.
