1986: Rosslare, Wexford, enters its fourth week of a dry spell, following Hurricane Charlie on 25 August, which dumped nearly 60 mm of rain on the southeast.

2018: Southern counties experience localised flooding after Storm Bronagh sweeps through Ireland and Britain. This storm follows Storm Ali just two days earlier, which produced a 143 km/h wind gust at Mace Head, Co. Galway.
