Autumn-weather-1200x675 Met Éireann Forecasts Mixed Conditions Ahead with Wetter End to Autumn

Met Éireann has issued its latest extended monthly weather outlook, offering a glimpse into Ireland’s atmospheric trends from mid-October through early November. The forecast, released on Tuesday 7 October, suggests a relatively settled start to the period, followed by a gradual shift toward wetter and more unsettled conditions.

Week 1: Settled Start with Mild Conditions From Monday 13 to Sunday 19 October, high pressure is expected to dominate to the northwest of Ireland, bringing more stable weather across the country. Temperatures will be typical for the season, with slightly warmer conditions anticipated in the north and west. Rainfall is likely to be below average, thanks to the influence of the high-pressure system.

Week 2: Wetter Weather Returns The outlook becomes more uncertain for the week of 20 to 26 October, with signs pointing to a return of lower pressure. While temperatures are expected to remain average, rainfall is forecast to rise above seasonal norms across most of the country. The west and northwest may see more typical precipitation levels.

Week 3: Continued Wet Spell Confidence in the forecast dips further for the final week of October, but the signal for low pressure remains. Temperatures are set to stay steady, while rainfall is likely to continue above average nationwide.

Week 4: Uncertainty Persists into November Looking ahead to the first week of November (3 to 9 November), Met Éireann notes very low confidence in the forecast. However, the slight signal for low pressure persists, with average temperatures and continued higher-than-normal rainfall expected.

While the early part of the forecast period offers a window of calm, the latter weeks suggest a return to more typical autumnal conditions, with increased rainfall and unsettled weather likely to dominate.
