In 1928, the overnight temperature drops to freezing at Phoenix Park in Dublin.

In 2006, the remnants of ex-Hurricane Helene brought gale-force wind gusts across much of Ireland and northwestern Scotland.

In 2020, Oak Park in County Carlow recorded a grass minimum temperature of –6.6°C, its lowest September reading in 51 years.

In 2023, Storm Agnes caused spot flooding, fallen trees and traffic disruption across Ireland. A Status Orange wind warning was in place for Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Kerry, Tipperary and Waterford, while Sherkin Island in County Cork recorded a wind gust of 117 km/h.
