Sunny spells and April showers for the coming week

Sunny spells and April showers will dominate Ireland’s weather over the next week and into the Easter weekend, with slightly above-average sunshine amounts and temperatures (11–13°C) close to the seasonal norm.
Precipitation totals will generally be close to average.
Each day will bring scattered showers, in between which there will be good spells of sunshine.
Winds will be gentle to moderate south-west on Sunday and Monday before swinging to gentle to moderate north-westerly on Tuesday and light to gentle westerly beyond midweek.
From Monday night through the rest of the coming week, temperatures will drop low enough for frost to form in places sheltered from the prevailing breeze.
For farmers, there will be a reduction in soil moisture deficits in the coming week, but grass growth will remain stunted in eastern counties.
The long-range outlook to the final week of April shows an increase in high pressure with below-average rainfall and a slightly above-normal temperature range.
