The coming week will bring a mild and settled period of weather for Ireland, with temperatures reaching up to 22°C midweek.

While cloud cover will vary, all areas can expect spells of sunshine at times.

Some light rain or drizzle may affect northwestern coastal fringes late on Saturday, but the day will dry apart from a shower or two in east Ulster.

Top temperatures of 12 to 17°C, coolest in eastern coastal counties and warmest in the Mid-West.

The weather will become cloudier, with some scattered light showers during Sunday. Some light drizzle may once again impact coastal parts of the west and northwest, but a clearing will follow later in the afternoon.

Temperatures will remain mild, between 13 and 17 degrees Celsius. Winds will be south-south-westerly direction.

Monday through to mid-week will bring a gradual rise in temperatures, ranging from 16-19°C on Monday to 18 to 22°C on Thursday and Friday.

Overnight patches of and will form in places in light winds, but temperatures are expected to remain well above freezing everywhere.

It will remain dry through to next weekend, when temperatures will dip back to the mid-teens as a cooler north to northeasterly breeze sets in.

Temperatures will drop closer to the seasonal average by the end of next week, with the risk of overnight frosts returning.
