Warm, Sunny Weekend Before Cooler, Wetter Weather Arrives

Ireland is set to enjoy another week of sunshine and warm temperatures as high pressure continues to influence weather conditions across northwest Europe.

Ireland’s current spell of very warm, dry weather is set to last through to Sunday afternoon, before a shift to cooler and wetter conditions takes hold.

Until then, temperatures will climb into the mid to high 20s, with parts of the country possibly reaching or exceeding 30°C on Saturday.

Next week will bring more unsettled conditions, with frequent showers and longer spells of rain—heaviest across western counties.

Today (Friday)
After a foggy start in some areas, the day will turn very warm with long sunny spells.
Daytime highs of 26–29°C, with overnight lows between 14–18°C.
Light southwesterly breezes.

Saturday
Hot and sunny throughout, with temperatures peaking between 26 and 31°C.
Winds will remain mostly light, occasionally moderate, from the southeast.

Sunday
A largely dry start but scattered showers will develop during the afternoon, turning more widespread with the risk of thunderstorms.
Highs of 21–26°C, warmest in the north.
Southeasterly winds, light to moderate.

Monday to Wednesday
Low pressure to the west will bring heavy showers and longer spells of rain, with thundery downpours at times and a risk of spot flooding.
There will be dry and bright intervals, especially away from the southwest and west.
Temperatures will range from the high teens to just above 20°C in some places by midweek.

Rest of the Week
Showers will continue, but become more scattered, with longer dry spells likely.
Ireland will sit between a cooler Atlantic airmass and warmer air over Britain, meaning some fronts may stall in the west.
A westerly airflow will persist, with lighter winds and temperatures reaching the low 20s in parts of Leinster and Ulster.
