A generally unsettled week lies ahead. Monday brings heavier showers in the north and west, with the southwest staying drier. Showers continue into Tuesday, easing slightly by Wednesday with more sunshine and drier spells. The latter half of the week will see scattered showers but increasing dry periods, with temperatures staying in the high teens to low 20s.
Sunday:
Much of the northern half of the country will stay dry. Further south, scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle are expected. For All-Ireland Hurling Final day at Croke Park, conditions will be mostly overcast with high humidity levels.
Highs: 16 to 22°C, warmest in north Connacht and Ulster.
Winds: Light to moderate east to northeast winds.
Monday:
A mix of dry spells and scattered showers, some heavy or thundery in Ulster, Connacht, and north Leinster. The west will remain drier overall.
Highs: 16 to 22°C, coolest in the west.
Winds: Moderate northwesterly.
Tuesday:
Scattered showers will move eastwards across the country with good dry periods and occasional sunny breaks.
Highs: 16 to 20°C.
Winds: Moderate northwesterly.
Wednesday:
A largely dry day with isolated showers and some sunny spells. Cloud will increase from the west in the evening, with patchy rain arriving after nightfall. The far east and northeast may stay dry throughout.
Highs: 15 to 19°C.
Winds: Moderate northwesterly.
Rest of the Week:
A westerly airflow will bring scattered showers, but rainfall amounts will be lower than earlier in the week. There will be longer dry spells, particularly toward the weekend. The northwest will see the highest rainfall accumulations.
Temperatures: High teens to low 20s.
Winds: Light westerly.
