The coming 10 days will bring plenty of dry weather, particularly to the south and east. While there will be occasional outbreaks of rain, mainly affecting the west and northwest, much of the country can expect a mix of sunny spells and mild temperatures. Winds will initially be moderate but will turn lighter and more variable later this weekend be light. Rainfall totals will remain well below average for many areas, especially away from Atlantic coasts.

Today (Wednesday):
Dry and bright for most. Cloud will build from the southwest, bringing light rain or drizzle to the far west by mid-afternoon. Elsewhere stays dry into the evening. Scattered outbreaks of rain will spread east overnight, though many southern and eastern areas may remain dry.

Winds: Moderate southerly, freshening later


Thursday:
A damp start in places, but rain will clear during the morning. Most areas turning dry with sunny spells. A few showers in the west and north.
Highs: 17–21°C, coolest in the northwest
Winds: Moderate westerly, easing later


Friday:
Long dry spells with a few scattered showers. Sunny breaks for all. Cloud building in the northwest later.
Highs: 18–23°C
Winds: Moderate to fresh west-southwesterly


Saturday:
Dry start for many. Rain will move into the northwest and spread across Connacht, north Leinster, north Munster, and Ulster late morning. South Munster and south Leinster will stay mostly dry. Rain becoming patchier through the afternoon.
Highs: 17–21°C, warmest in the south
Winds: Moderate southwesterly


Sunday:
Humid with hazy sunshine. Patchy drizzle possible in the far northwest and southwest.
Highs: 15–21°C, coolest in the northwest
Winds: Light southerly


Outlook:
Generally dry away from Atlantic coastal counties. Rainfall will be below average in the south, east, and Midlands; closer to normal in the west and northwest. Winds mostly light easterly or southeasterly, veering westerly later. Temperatures near or slightly above average, with low 20s likely in southern counties; cooler in the northwest.
