Rainfall warning for Northern Ireland

A Status Yellow Rainfall Warning has been issued for five Northern Ireland counties, effective from 2:00 AM to 9:00 PM this Wednesday.

The UK Met Office alert covers Antrim, Armagh, Down, and eastern parts of Tyrone and Derry, with high ground in Antrim and Down bracing for up to 60mm of rain.

Other areas can expect 20-30mm of rainfall.

Meanwhile, Munster, the South Midlands, and parts of Connacht should remain mostly dry with only scattered showers until Thursday evening.

Temperatures will hover between 11-13°C, though sheltered inland spots may see overnight frost.

Met Éireann has also issued a Small Craft Warning for coastal waters from Fair Head to Carlingford Lough to Carnsore Point, from 9:00 PM Tuesday to 5:00 PM Wednesday.

Northwesterly winds are forecast to intensify, reaching force 6 or 7, posing risks for mariners.
