Ideal weather conditions expected for 2025 Dublin Marathon

In a marked improvement on the 2024 edition, conditions look set to be ideal for the 2025 Irish Life Dublin Marathon, which takes place next Sunday, 26 October.
Latest long range weather models suggest that participants can expect a mix of scattered cloud and sunny spells under moderate westerly winds, with temperatures rising to 8 to 9°C after a cold start. In fact, temperatures could drop to low single figures during Saturday night and early Sunday morning with an air frost developing in inland Leinster.
“The Friendly Marathon” begins at 8.45am, and although largely dry weather is expected, rain will spread from the northwest across Ireland. By the time the rain hits Dublin, however, the majority of marathon participants are likely to have crossed the finish line.
While Wednesday through Friday morning are likely to bring unsettled weather with periods of rain and strong winds, conditions are expected to improve significantly for Saturday and Sunday.
The 2024 Dublin Marathon drew over 22,500 runners despite rain and wind on the day.
