Brilliant sunshine to begin the working week

Monday morning brought brilliant sunshine across Ireland as high pressure anchored nearby ensured a dry start to the week.
It was cold, however, with temperatures dropping below freezing in many locations away from the east coast.
Straide in Mayo was the coldest spot in Ireland at -2.8 C, while Mount Dillon in Roscommon, Athenry in Galway and Markree in Sligo each registered -2.1C at 7.30 AM.
Elsewhere, it was -2 C at Emyvale in Monaghan, -1.9 C at Abbeyfeale in Limerick and -1.7c at Tulla in Clare and Athlone in County Westmeath.
The will be dry with sunny spells everywhere.
Top temperatures of 10 to 13c in a light northwest wind, veering southwest later.
It will cloud over this evening in the west and northwest where some patchy drizzle or light rain will occur for a time.
Monday night is not expected to be as cold with temperatures staying above freezing in most locations.
Some rain is expected on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights, but a good deal of dry weather is expected over the next seven days and into next week as high pressure remains close to or over Ireland.
