
West to east split as rain pushes in

The eastern half of Ireland managed to stay dry until late evening on Thursday as rain pushed into the west.
A warm front crossed the island during the day bringing heavy spells of rain to western counties.
The northwest experienced the heaviest bursts of rain with Malin Head in Donegal recording 5.2mm between 3.00 pm and 4.00 pm.
Dublin Bay was a picture of serenity on Wednesday afternoon.

The rain will die out on Thursday night ahead of a showery day on Friday in a moderate westerly wind.
Temperatures will range from 10 to 13 °C on Thursday but will drop to 7 to 9 C on Friday.
Conditions will slowly improve during Saturday and into Sunday, as drier weather takes hold, and temperatures will climb back up to 10 to 13 °C.
Met Éireann has also issued three marine and small craft warnings for the Irish coastline on Friday.
