Rain Lingers Across Ireland Into Wednesday

Significant rainfall is forecast for parts of Ireland over the next 24 to 30 hours, with totals expected to exceed normal levels in areas of east Connacht, north Leinster and the eastern half of Ulster, according to the latest projections from the GFS weather model.
The rain is linked to an occluded front moving up from the southwest. It will remain persistent through Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning, before gradually breaking up.

Scattered showers will move in from the west by mid-morning, although rain will be slow to clear from East Ulster.
Looking further ahead, rainfall amounts are expected to stay above average over the next two weeks as Ireland continues under a mobile Atlantic regime.
