UK Met Office Warns of Changeable Conditions

The UK is bracing for a shift to more unsettled weather beginning this weekend, according to the latest long-range outlook from the Met Office.
Low pressure systems moving in from the Atlantic are expected to bring widespread rain and showers from Sunday, October 19, through Tuesday, October 28. Some areas may also experience strong winds during this period.
Forecasters say the weather will remain changeable, with pulses of rain interspersed by drier and brighter spells. Toward the final weekend of October, high pressure may build to the west of the UK while low pressure lingers to the east. This pattern could usher in a cooler and slightly drier northwesterly flow, although scattered showers are still possible.
Looking ahead to the start of November, the Met Office anticipates continued variability. A showery northwesterly regime is likely to dominate at first, followed by a return to more unsettled conditions as Atlantic low pressure systems track across the country. These systems may take a more southerly route than usual, increasing the likelihood of widespread rain and gusty winds.
Despite the unsettled outlook, temperatures are expected to remain close to or slightly above seasonal averages.
