UK Met Office Warns of Extended Period of Changeable Weather

The UK Met Office has warned that unsettled conditions are expected to continue until mid November.
Showers and longer spells of rain are likely at times, accompanied by periods of strong winds. Temperatures are expected to be around or above average with any colder spells short lived.
In the shorter term, from Tuesday 28 October to Thursday 6 November, the weather is expected to be changeable, according to to the Met Office in its latest long range outlook.
Bands of rain will move in from the Atlantic with the wettest and windiest conditions affecting the north west, while the south and east may see drier spells.
Around the turn of the month and into early November, wetter and windier conditions are likely to spread more widely, although high pressure over the south east may keep conditions more settled there. Temperatures are expected to start slightly below average before trending higher with the potential for a mild spell.
The Met Office stresses that long-range forecasts provide a broad overview rather than detailed local predictions. Forecasters rely on a range of models, including those from the Met Office and the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, to indicate how conditions may differ from normal across the UK.
