Irish firm launches app to remove carbon from flights

A new app from Irish-based climate-tech company Tao Climate launched globally today, giving air passengers a way to measure and remove the carbon emissions from their flights.
FlyGuiltFree.com uses nature-based carbon removal powered by industrial hemp and verified with artificial intelligence, satellite monitoring, and scientific methods.
Users of the app can calculate the emissions of any flight and offset them in real time through Tao Climate’s hemp-based projects. The company says these projects include converting hemp into building materials, which lock away carbon for decades or longer. Passengers receive a compliance-grade carbon removal certificate after completing the process.
Gary Byrnes, Tao Climate’s chief executive, said the platform provides measurable and verified carbon removal rather than traditional offsets. Felix Roick, the company’s chief operating officer, added that the service is designed to make climate action simple and transparent for users.

The technology integrates AI, internet of things sensors, and satellite imaging to track carbon removal in real time. Tao Climate says each action is logged and verified, providing accountability for every tonne of carbon removed.
The company is in discussions with airlines, airports, and travel platforms to integrate the app’s carbon removal tools into booking systems. Tao Climate said the goal is to allow passengers to take direct climate action while travelling.
