Met Éireann has issued a series of Status Yellow marine alerts, warning of difficult sea conditions for small craft around the Irish coastline over the coming days.

A Small Craft Warning is in effect from Carnsore Point to Mizen Head to Erris Head, where southwest to west winds are expected to reach force 6 or higher. The warning is valid until 12 noon on Thursday.

A second warning has been issued for the northwest, covering Erris Head to Bloody Foreland to Fair Head, where south to southwest winds will strengthen to force 6 or 7. This alert is valid from 2am until 12 noon on Thursday.

Further choppy sea conditions are forecast later on Thursday, with a third warning in effect for Strangford Lough to Roche’s Point to Malin Head, where west to southwest winds will reach force 6 or 7 at times. This warning runs from 12 noon on Thursday until midnight.
