Colder weather and frost more likely across northern UK

Central and northern parts of the UK are expected to experience colder but generally drier weather from this weekend through to the final week of November, according to the UK Met Office.
It says overnight frost is likely in many areas while some showers may affect exposed coasts, with higher ground in the north seeing occasional wintry precipitation.
The south of the country is likely to start the period cloudier and wetter, although drier conditions may establish later in the week.
Overall, the early part of next week is expected to be cold and dry across most of the UK. By the end of the period conditions may become more changeable, according to the Met Office, with rain or showers in some areas and the possibility of hill snow in northern regions. Temperatures are expected to return closer to average.
The Met Office says there is greater uncertainty for the two-week period from Wednesday 26 November to Wednesday 10 December. There is an increased chance of high pressure across northern and northwestern regions and lower pressure over the south.
Northern areas may be slightly colder and drier than usual, with overnight frost and fog possible. Southern and western areas are expected to be wetter than normal, with temperatures near or slightly above average. All parts of the UK are likely to see spells of wind and rain, with hill snow mainly in northern areas.
