Met Éireann has issued a series of warnings for Irish waters over the coming days.

A gale warning is in place from Rossan Point to Fair Head and Carlingford Lough as well as the Irish Sea north of Anglesey. West to northwest winds are expected to reach gale force 8 from 8pm on Sunday until 7am on Monday.

Small craft warnings have also been issued. From midday until 6pm on Monday, westerly winds of force 6 or higher will affect waters from Roches Point to Loop Head to Rossan Point.

Later on Monday evening, all coasts of Ireland will come under a small craft warning as westerly winds of force 6 or higher continue until midnight on Wednesday.

On land, it will be a breezy week with the potential for strong winds from Thursday into the weekend.

Unsettled conditions will continue into early November, with further rain or showers and strong winds at times in a predominantly south-westerly airflow.
