Overcast conditions away from the coast

Satellite images of Ireland on Tuesday produced a rather cloudy picture, with the best of any sunshine breaking out in south Kerry, west Cork and County Down.
A frontal system moving eastward through Ireland on Monday night into Tuesday morning kept much of the country under extensive cloud cover, limiting sunshine in most regions.
Some coastal spots did enjoy brief spells of sunshine during the late morning, however.
Parts of the coastline were visible from space when the Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellite passed over at 11.30am.
The above and below zoomed in imagery features Cobh, Castletownbere and Cork City in County Cork and Kilkeel and the Mourne Mountains in County Down.

It will be largely overcast during Wednesday, with the best of any sunny breaks in east Leinster.
The long-term weather prospects for Ireland are looking extremely positive if it is dry and settled weather you are seeking.
Rainfall totals for the remainder of March and into the first week of April will be below average as high pressure becomes anchored close to or over Ireland.
While the exact positioning of the area of high pressure will determine the extent of any sunshine, latest weather model output suggests low precipitation totals across Ireland from this weekend.
