Cloudless skies over Ireland

Ireland enjoyed widespread sunshine on Thursday as the long dry spell continued.
Castlederg in County Tyrone was Ireland’s warmest spot, reaching 21.5 C at 3.00 p.m.
The station fell just short of the 21.9 C recorded at Newport Furnace in County Mayo on Wednesday.
There wasn’t a cloud in the sky over Ireland when NASA’s MODIS satellite passed over shortly before midday.
Eastern parts of Britain, however, were shrouded in low cloud feeding in off the North Sea and the English Channel.

Friday will bring further sunshine, but there will be more scattered cloud than of late.
It will turn cloudier on Saturday with light rain or showers by evening.
Sunday will be much cooler with temperatures ranging from 10 to 12 C, with a scattering of heavy showers, some thundery.
