Clouds Gather Ahead of Atlantic Rain

A NASA MODIS image of Ireland captured at midday showed cloud building across the west ahead of tonight’s rain.
Cloud cover will gradually extend eastward through the day, with rain reaching the Atlantic coast shortly after dark. Conditions will improve in the west early tomorrow morning, but the Irish Sea region could see lingering showers into the late morning, while parts of the east and northeast coast may face rain into the early afternoon.
Rainfall amounts will be generally light, ranging from 5 mm to 10 mm, heaviest in western Connacht and eastern Ulster.
Improving conditions with scattered showers will spread from the west during the afternoon, followed by a largely dry Sunday.
