Ireland Enjoys Brief Reprieve From Rainfall

Sunshine held firm across northern and eastern counties on Saturday while rain returned to Atlantic-facing areas, marking the latest shift in a month already defined by wetter than average weather.
The dry start to the weekend follows a notably wet start to November. Cork Airport recorded 67.8mm of rainfall over the past week, more than double its average for the period. Athenry has seen 83.6mm, nearing 70 per cent of its monthly norm.
Live webcam feeds from Galway and Limerick captured cloud and rain sweeping in from the west. In contrast, Donegal and Dublin enjoyed clearer skies.
The unsettled pattern will persist into next week. Heavy rain is expected to spread from the south on Monday night and into Tuesday, raising the risk of localised flooding. Fallen leaves are blocking gullies and drains in many areas, and with soils already saturated, surface water is likely to accumulate.
