Roscommon records warmest day of 2025

Roscommon recorded Ireland’s warmest day of 2025 to date on Monday afternoon.
The temperature reached 19.5°C at Met Éireann‘s synoptic station at Mount Dillon.
The yearly high was just 0.1°C warmer than the previous high set at Shannon Airport, County Clare, on Saturday.
It is likely that Monday’s temperature will be beaten in the next few days, as high pressure continues to feed milder air over Ireland.
Mean air temperatures over the past week were above normal throughout the country, with values coming in at between 2 to 4.7 degrees above average, according to Met Éireann.
Sunshine totals have also been well above average.
72.8 hours of sunshine were recorded in Malin Head in Donegal, which equates to 239% of normal sunshine amounts for the time of year.
Unsettled conditions from Sunday through next week will bring an end to what has been an exceptionally dry spell of weather.
All parts of Ireland will see rainfall at times next week as Atlantic frontal systems approach from the west.
