Cork records warmest day of 2025

Cork recorded its warmest day of the year on Tuesday, with Roches Point hitting 25°C and Cork Airport close behind at 24.8°C.
But it was a different story further north, where Malin Head in Donegal managed just 14°C — a stark contrast on the summer scale.
The hottest day of the year so far still belongs to Mount Dillon in County Roscommon, where 29.6°C was recorded on June 29 — the highest June temperature since 2018.
Now, Ireland is bracing for another burst of summer warmth. From Thursday through the weekend, a plume of hot air from the south will push temperatures into the mid to high 20s nationwide, with sunshine and mostly dry skies expected.
Friday and Saturday look set to be the peak of the heat, but keep an eye on Sunday — forecasters warn of a slight risk of thunderstorms, particularly in the south and west.
Early next week, conditions are expected to cool down, with a return to more unsettled weather and scattered heavy showers.
