Unsettled week ahead as Atlantic weather dominates

Ireland faces a cool, unsettled week as a mobile Atlantic airflow brings frequent rain and gusty winds. The west is likely to see above-average rainfall, while the east remains closer to seasonal norms.
Rain and drizzle will track east across Leinster and Ulster on Tuesday, with brighter spells and scattered showers in the west. Temperatures will reach 13–19°C, mildest in Munster, with southeast winds easing later.
Wednesday and Thursday will remain unsettled, with showers spreading inland from Atlantic counties and thunderstorms possible in the Midlands. The east and south should see some dry and bright periods.
By Friday, more widespread rain is expected, particularly in the south, before Saturday brings scattered showers and sunny spells. Sunday looks wet and blustery, especially in northern Leinster and Ulster.
Next week is set to remain unsettled, with frequent rain, below-average temperatures, and chilly nights inland. While some southern counties may see brief improvement, a prolonged dry spell is unlikely.
