Small Craft Warnings in Effect for Wednesday and Thursday

Marine-warning-1-1200x675 Small Craft Warnings in Effect for Wednesday and Thursday

Met Éireann has issued a series of small craft warnings for western and northwestern coasts this week.

Southerly winds are expected to reach Force 6 at times along the stretch from Valentia to Slyne Head and on to Rossan Point from 1pm on Wednesday until midnight Thursday.

A further warning covers the coastline from Valentia to Erris Head and Fair Head, with southerly winds again reaching Force 6 between midnight on Thursday and midnight Friday.

Mariners are advised to exercise caution during these periods.

High pressure to the northeast of Ireland will keep conditions mostly dry through Friday. Rain will extend across the country late on Friday night.

A full return to the unsettled weather of early September is unlikely. Instead, conditions will be typical of early autumn with a mix of long dry spells and scattered showers from the weekend into next week.
