1807: Blizzard conditions sweep the country, killing many people. Two transport ships are wrecked on the east coast, with heavy snow preventing the crews from realising how close they are to land. Phoenix Park records show heavy snowfalls during the 1807–08 winter.

1887: The maximum daytime temperature in Dublin reaches 2.3 °C.

1947: Phoenix Park records a daytime high of 18.3 °C, a record temperature for the date in Dublin.

1973: The overnight temperature in Dublin drops to -4.2 °C.

2009: Heavy rain floods Cork, forcing hundreds to evacuate. The Inniscara Dam limits the worst damage, but homes, shops, and roads, especially in the west and city centre, are underwater. Towns including Bandon and Fermoy remain submerged. November 2009 becomes Ireland’s wettest November on record.

2016: The temperature falls to -2.1 °C at Belfast Airport.
