Sunshine Favours North and Southeast as Westerly Flow Continues

Northern and southeastern parts of Ireland saw the brightest conditions today, while much of the rest of the country remained under overcast and damp skies.
A Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellite image taken just before midday revealed broken cloud cover over Ulster and the southeast, offering glimpses of sunshine.

Temperatures will climb on Sunday, ranging from 19 to 26°C, with cloud gradually breaking to allow some evening sunshine in many areas.
Looking ahead, a predominantly westerly Atlantic airflow will dominate Ireland’s weather over the next ten days. This setup will bring a mix of sunshine and scattered showers nationwide.
Rainfall amounts are expected to be close to average in northern and western regions. In contrast, southern and eastern counties are likely to see relatively drier conditions.
Temperatures will remain warm in the early part of the week but are expected to return to more typical seasonal levels from Tuesday onwards.
