2006 – Temperatures hit 30.2°C in both Kilkenny and Shannon during a summer heatwave.

2007 – Torrential rain causes a bridge to collapse in Leenane, Co Galway, dividing the village and triggering major traffic diversions.

2016 – Glasnevin, Dublin records its highest July temperature since 2001 with 27.5°C.

2017 – In a mostly unsettled month, the July high of 26.2°C is reached at Mount Dillon, Co Roscommon.

2022 – 33.0°C is recorded at Phoenix Park, Dublin—the station’s highest on record and the second-highest temperature ever in Ireland. Nine other synoptic stations also break July heat records, including Casement Aerodrome (31.9°C), Mullingar (30.4°C), and Dunsany (30.5°C).
