
Met Éireann Issues Marine Warnings for the Coming Days

Met Éireann has issued a sequence of small craft warnings for Irish coastal waters over the next three days, as strong south to southwest winds are expected to affect much of the country.
A Small Craft Warning is currently in place from Hook Head to Loop Head to Malin Head, with south to southwest winds reaching force 6 at times. This warning is valid from 10:00 PM Monday 25 August until 12:00 PM Tuesday 26 August.
The alert will then shift to cover the area from Wicklow Head to Valentia to Malin Head on Tuesday afternoon, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with cyclonic winds expected to reach force 6 or higher.
On Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, a Small Craft Warning will apply to all Irish coasts from 10:00 PM Tuesday 26 August to 1:00 PM Wednesday 27 August, as cyclonic winds of force 6 or stronger are forecast.
Finally, winds will continue to affect southern, western, and northern coastal areas on Wednesday, with a warning for Hook Head to Mizen Head to Erris Head valid from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with southwest to west winds reaching force 6 or higher.
